485 GRADUATE VISA EASIER TO OBTAIN, BUT IS IT GOOD FOR THE PR?

The migration amendment has removed certain requirements for the applicants for the Subclass 485 visa in the Graduate Work stream for applications lodged during 2022 to 2023 financial year.

These requirements have been removed:

  • Have a degree or diploma closely related to the occupation.
  • Nominate an occupation on the Medium and Long Skilled Occupation List.
  • No provisional skills assessment needed.

These changes will make it easier for some applicants to obtain the Graduate 485 visa.

In the long run you need to consider the work requirements for the General Skilled Migration (189, 190 and 491) visas specific to your occupation when applying for the PR.
